Class begins at 3:45pm on Monday, September 27, 1999. Parents and students are invited to share a light snack before class. Please stop by the classroom anytime between 3:15 and 3:40. Look for letters a week prior to class advising you of this web site.
We will be covering the introduction "Here We Are, God!" and chapter one "God Made the World."
The focus on this lesson will be to:
Help the children feel welcome both as individuals and as members of our group; Look forward to learning about God together; Seek God's help; Know that the world God made is good; Appreciate creation as a gift from God; Thank God for making our world.
We will be getting to know each other by singing the following song (to the tune of "Did You Ever See?"): "Oh, we all have come together Together, together. Oh, we all have come together To learn about God.
Here's Mrs. Graziani, and (we will go around a circle and insert each child's name).
We're happy to be here. We'll all help each other. Oh, we all have come together To learn about God."
We will hear the following adaptations from the bible:
Mark 10:13-16: One day some children came to see Jesus. Jesus was happy to see them. He said, "Let the children come to Me." Then Jesus put His arms around the children and blessed each one of them. Genesis 1:3-4: God made the sun, the moon, and the stars. The light helps us to see. The light makes us warm. God said, "It is good." Genesis 1:10-13: God made the water and the earth. He made the plants, trees, and flowers. God said, "It is good." Genesis 1:24-25: God made all living things in our world. He made all the animals, big and small. God said, "It is good."
In order to reinforce the lesson we will make "flowers" to decorate our prayer table and draw a picture of some thing God created.
